Shani is thrilled when her friend Jackie picks her as a companion on a fully-paid trip to South Africa. It is a rare chance for Shani because her poor family cannot afford to take her on such an exotic trip. Shani's mother doesn't like the idea. She wonders why Jackie's stepfather is being so generous.
